100 Bishopsgate is a skyscraper under construction in the north eastern part of London's main financial district, the City of London. It will stand in a prominent location on Bishopsgate, just a short walk from Liverpool Street station. The developer is Great Portland Estates, the architect is Allies and Morrison and the Structural Engineer is Robert Bird Group.
It has been planned for several years now, and was initially rumoured to be 260 m / 55 storeys. However, a planning application submitted in September 2006 revealed it to be 165 m, with 40 storeys. It was approved in April 2007, however, demolition of the building currently on the site is under way. In July 2011 It was given a 7m height increase taking the overall height to 172m
The building will contain 785,772 square feet (73,000 m2) of office floorspace. It will stand on the other side of Camomile Street to the Heron Tower, another skyscraper. Two other skyscrapers will be under construction at the same time as 100 Bishopsgate in the vicinity: Bishopsgate Tower and 122 Leadenhall.
